Ed Sheeran, popular English singer-songwriter, together with esteemed record producer Max Martin and the talented Foy Vance, bagged an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. They were recognized for their work on the song “A Beautiful Game”, featured in the season 3 finale of the hit series, Ted Lasso.
Surprise Victory
Sheeran did not anticipate the win, expressing his gratitude towards those who voted for their composition. “A Beautiful Game” was up against songs from a slew of other well-received shows, such as Ginny & Georgia, The L Word: Generation Q, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

The singer is no stranger to accolades, boasting an extensive list of awards in his decade-long career, notable among them are multiple Grammy Awards. Sheeran has seen 16 Grammy nominations, out of which he emerged victorious in four categories.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Sheeran’s latest album – symbolically named (Subtract) – is in the running for the Best Pop Vocal Album at this year’s Grammy ceremony.
