Rowland, the 43-year-old actress, recently appeared on the Sherri show to discuss her latest film, Mea Culpa. During the interview, she lauded Shepherd, the 56-year-old host, for cultivating a positive and secure atmosphere on her show.
When the topic veered towards Rowland's dressing room, Shepherd responded affirmatively, stating that they had provided Rowland with a “gorgeous room”. This was particularly significant as Rowland had made headlines before for suddenly leaving the Today show due to alleged dissatisfaction with her on-set accommodations.
During that incident, Rowland was scheduled to co-host the show with Hoda Kotb, as a substitute for Jenna Bush Hager. But after her initial interview, Rowland was nowhere to be seen.
In an unexpected turn of events, Rita Ora, the 33-year-old pop phenomenon, was requested to step in for Rowland at the very last moment. She later took to Instagram to share her delight with the sudden opportunity.
Interestingly, both Kotb and Bush Hager supported Ora's unexpected role and also expressed their wish for Rowland to make a comeback on their show.
Despite the controversy surrounding Rowland's abrupt exit from the Today show, the hosts exhibited no hard feelings against her. Kotb, in fact, made a generous offer to share her own dressing room with Rowland, should she decide to return.
